Graduate Student Opportunities
I am currently recruiting 2-3 fully funded MSc and PhD students to work on projects related to radiation-induced corrosion starting Fall 2025.

Projects include:
-
The assessment of corrosion coatings in the presence of radiation for use in the nuclear reactor core in collaboration with Velan. This project is perfect for someone interested in the nuclear industry, electrochemistry, and/or metallurgy and wants experience working with industry members.
-
Identification of specific radiation products and their effect on corrosion. This project is perfect for someone interested in radiation chemistry, chromatography, and the the advancement of characterization techniques.
-
Characterization of radiation-produced hydrogen absorption into metals. This project is perfect for someone interested in radiation chemistry, electrochemistry, corrosion, and novel characterization methods.

Students can expect a flexible and considerate working environment, annual attendance at conferences, and fundamental research applicable to industry. After completion of their degree, students will have advanced training in metal degradation, electrochemistry, analytical thinking, and radiation chemistry. Furthermore, a high level of scientific communication, leadership, and networking skills will be gained.

Enthusiastic students are encouraged to send their CVs to lindsay.grandy@rmc.ca.
